KH Said Aqil In Front Of The Congress Participants: NU Supports The Dissolution Of Organization Supporting The Caliphate, 212 Is A Political Movement
BANDAR LAMPUNG - General Chairperson of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siroj gave an accountability report in part of the series of events at the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in Lampung. KH Said ensured that NU under his command was loyal and active in maintaining unity and integrity.
Speaking at the Raden Intan State Islamic University in Lampung, KH Said Aqil explained many things ahead of NU's one-century journey. He said the role of NU was not only to shape the nation's civilization, but also to be an inspiration for world civilization.
"NU's work in countering the undermining of groups that want to change the nation's ideology has received recognition from Indonesia. A number of countries appreciate the role and existence of NU in maintaining peace in diversity, tolerance in diversity, harmony, and the integrity of nations," explained KH Said Aqil, Thursday 23 December.
In the Indonesian context, NU is an organization that plays an important role in the integration of Islam and the state. It is proven until now, continued KH Said Aqil, that NU is committed to maintaining the existence of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and consistently maintaining the ideology of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution.
"NU consistently rejects any group that wants to change the shape of the state, both a religious state and a secular state," he said.
"NU supports the government to disband organizations that wish to promote the caliphate in Indonesia," continued KH Said.
"NU also believes that the 212 movement is not a Muslim revival but a political movement. The originator clearly has political goals and motives in the name of Islam," he said.
It was also confirmed by KH Saiq Aqil that none of the Islamic boarding schools owned by Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) were exposed to radicalism. PBNU understands that radicalism is caused by a narrow and rigid religious understanding. Narrow and rigid religious understanding is usually built by narrow knowledge.
On this occasion, KH Said also revealed data referring to the Nahdlatul Ulama Data Collection System (SispendaNU). The NU organizational network includes: 34 management at the regional level, 518 management at the branch level, 31 management at the definitive special branch, 2 management at the experimental special branch, 4,630 management at the MWC level, and 57,125 at the branch level.
In addition to the structure at the parent level, NU also has 14 Autonomous Bodies and 18 institutions. The Autonomous Body and these institutions function to run and mobilize programs that are able to strengthen the quality of NU's human resources (HR) and improve the welfare of NU members.
