Anticipating Omicron, Gorontalo Governor Checks Oxygen Cylinder Availability
GORONTALO - Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie checked the availability of oxygen cylinders at Samator PT Aneka Gas Industri Tbk (AGI) in Haya-haya Village, Limboto Barat District. Checking the availability of oxygen cylinders to anticipate the emergence of the third wave of COVID-19.
The Governor was accompanied by the Head of Samator PT. AGI Gorontalo Branch Destavana Brahmanto. Destavana ensured that the company's stock of cylinders and oxygen were sufficient to deal with the possibility of a third wave.
He revealed that based on the experience in August 2021 when the Delta COVID-19 variant entered Gorontalo, his party succeeded in supplying all the cylinder and oxygen needs in the area.
"We think the availability of oxygen cylinders is sufficient when there will be a 3rd wave or the Omicron variant. Last August alone, we managed to supply approximately 16,257 tubes for hospital needs. For now, if the calculations are made, the stock will be sufficient, even until March 2022," he said, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.
PT. AGI is an oxygen refilling company operating in Gorontalo. This company supplies oxygen needs for medical and industrial purposes in the area.

Meanwhile, Governor Rusli said the availability of oxygen cylinders must always be sufficient, even though the current COVID-19 transmission rate in Gorontalo is decreasing.
This is also based on President Joko Widodo's orders to all regional heads to check the availability of oxygen, medicines, isolation rooms, hospitals, in the face of Christmas, New Year, and the entry of the Omicron variant.
"Alhamdulillah, we reflect in the mirror that last August we were able to handle the Delta surge. Hopefully, there won't be a third wave, even if there is we should be ready. That's why today I got off the plane directly here accompanied by Forkopimda," he explained.
As another anticipatory step, the Governor of Gorontalo also immediately visited the Ainun Habibie Hospital, which is one of the referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Gorontalo Province.
"Thanks to Samator for the availability of our gas cylinders until March 2022, that's what I really hope for," he added.
