Pakistani Citizen, Furniture Investor, Becomes Suspect Of Child Molestation In Padang

PADANG - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the West Sumatra Police has named a Pakistani citizen (WN) with the initials AHB as a suspect in a case of sexual abuse of girls in the city of Padang, West Sumatra.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Imam Kabut Sariadi, said that his party had carried out a case against this case and agreed to designate a Pakistani foreigner as the perpetrator based on the available evidence.

"We have determined the suspect and we are continuing to carry out the legal process in coordination with Immigration, the Pakistan Embassy and the DivHubinter Police Headquarters to ensure the rights of the perpetrators", he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.

In addition, his party is also coordinating with the prosecutor's office regarding this case.

However, he continued, the most important thing to do is to improve the psychology of the victim by bringing in a psychologist.

"We have coordinated with the West Sumatra Social Service and Women and Children Services (PPA) Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) West Sumatra Regional Police to try to help victims recover from the trauma they experienced", said Kombes Imam.

A Pakistani citizen with the initials AHB who is suspected of being an obscene actor against underage girls in the city of Padang is a furniture investor.

"The presence of AHB in West Sumatra is known to carry out a number of collaborations", he said.

According to him, the perpetrators came to West Sumatra to follow up on plans for cooperation in the home furniture export business.

This sexual violence was experienced by the victim on December 18, 2021 at a clothing store in Padang City

At the time of the incident the victim was guarding the shop then the victim was pulled by this foreigner and leaned the victim against the wall. This foreigner immediately committed acts of obscenity.

"After committing the obscene act, this foreigner threatened the victim by saying don't tell anyone", said Kombes Imam.

The victim's family reported the incident to the police. Reports of victims registered with LP/B/446/XII/2021/SPKT/Polda Sbr.

For this suspect, he was charged with Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76E of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning the stipulation of a government regulation in lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.
