Long-distance Train Passengers At Pasar Senen Station Experience A Decline
JAKARTA - Approaching the Christmas and New Year holidays, the number of passengers at Pasar Senen Station actually decreased on Tuesday, December 21. Based on the data collected, the number of passengers who departed until 17.30 WIB from Pasar Senen Station to other areas on the island of Java was 4,254 passengers.
This number tends to decrease when compared to the number of passengers departing from Pasar Senen Station on Monday, December 20, yesterday. That is, there are 4,589 passengers.
"For now, what we have managed to recap is around 4,254 passengers who have departed. And yesterday, the number of passengers we departed was around 4,589 passengers," said Public Relations Staff of the Operational Area (Daop) I Jakarta, Anwar to reporters at Pasar Senen Station, Tuesday. December 21.
The number of long-distance train passengers will continue to change over the next few days. The areas that many passengers go to are Semarang, Solo, Jogjakarta, Surabaya and Malang.
Separately, Head of Public Relations of PT KAI DAOP I Jakarta Eva Chairunisa said, until today during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the volume of passengers at Gambir Station and Pasar Senen is still normal.
"The volume of passengers from Pasar Senen today is around 4,300 served by 19 trains. This figure is still in the normal category for this Christmas and New Year period," said Eva.
Because when viewed with current conditions, the number of trains (KA) operated by PT KAI tends to be small because it is still in the adjustment phase during the pandemic.
"The number of operations is also still less when compared to the number of trains that are operated in normal times. During the Christmas and New Year seasons, up to 83 trains can operate. However, during Christmas and New Year during this pandemic, only 48 trains are operated per day, " he said.
