TNI And Polri Deploy Thousands Of Personnel To Guard The 34th NU Congress In Lampung, Especially There Is VVIP

LAMPUNG - A big celebration was held in Lampung. Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) will hold its 34th congress in this area. Thousands of TNI and Polri soldiers descended to ensure the smooth running of the event.

The Lampung Regional Police deployed their 3,288 personnel to protect the 34th Congress. Thousands of personnel will be deployed to various points.

"In this security, we have deployed 3,288 personnel and will be deployed to several activity points," said Karo Ops of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol. Wahyu Bintono Hari Bawono in Bandarlampung, Tuesday, December 21, as reported by Antara.

He said the congress activities took place in several places, such as in Central Lampung Regency and Bandarlampung City. The Lampung Regional Police, he continued, will place personnel at several points where the congress will take place.

"We will carry out security at Mount Sugih, Central Lampung, Malahayati University, UIN Raden Intan, and Lampung University as well as other points that will be passed because the President and Vice President will attend the opening later," he added.

Previously, the Commander of Kodim 0410/KBL Colonel Inf. Faisol Izuddin Karimi conducted a review of the readiness to observe the implementation of the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress in a number of places, one of which was the University of Lampung.

"The 34th NU Congress in Lampung will be held on December 22-23 2021, which will be attended by representatives from all over Indonesia, including from abroad," he said.

He saw the situation in Unila's environment that will be used as the venue for the congress, such as the Multipurpose Building (GSG) at the University of Lampung (Unila) to the library building.

"Today, we are deliberately monitoring the situation at Unila, so what is clear is that we from the TNI will do our best to mobilize our forces to secure the NU Congress in Lampung," said Faisol.

Regarding the forces that will be deployed by Kodim 0410, Faisol emphasized that the TNI will do its best to make the NU Congress a success.

"If you ask that the personnel deployed are too technical, please ask the intelligence officer," said Faisol, who once served as Deputy Assistant Operations for the Presidential Security Forces (Waasops Paspampres).

Moreover, President Joko Widodo and Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin were confirmed to be present at the opening of the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Conference at Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School, Gunung Sugih, Central Lampung. Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 34th NU Congress, KH M Imam Aziz, said that strict health protocols (prokes) would be implemented and the number of participants was limited to a maximum of 500 people.

In addition, all participants who were present at the opening were tested by PCR swabs. The seating distance of the participants has also been adjusted according to the procedure. There are also health program ambassadors from medical students who are members of the Nahdlatul Ulama Medical Student Association (Numsa) to remind participants of the implementation of health programs to participants.
