Floods In Kemang Raya Are Still Not Clean Even Though Water Suction Cars Have Been Deployed

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-department (SDA Sub-department) has added another pump car to deal with floodwaters on Kemang Raya Street, Bangka, and Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.

One of the officers of the South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-department, Heri, explained that the addition of one pump car was to speed up the handling of the inundation, which was originally 50 centimeters high.

"There is one pump car which has been added with a capacity of 400 liters per second. Previously there was one and it operated for an hour, but it got caught in a fire, so we don't use it anymore", he said, Monday, December 20, as reported by Antara.

Apart from pump cars, the SDA Sub-Department has also deployed two stationary pumps to deliver water to the Kali.

As of 19.45 WIB, the puddles that flooded the Kemang Raya road had begun to recede. The flow of traffic began to smooth so that vehicles began to be able to pass through the road.

Local police officers are also on site to help smooth traffic flow.

In addition to roads, flood inundation also affected a number of shops and entered the shop area as high as 30 cm.

Head of the South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-Department, Mustajab when met at the location, said that the flood occurred at around 16.30 WIB due to high rainfall.

Mustajab said his party together with the local police were trying to help motorists pass through the area since the flood had risen.
