KPK Feeling Not Failed To Prove TPPU Wawan
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) admits that it has not failed to prove the crime of money laundering (TPPU) Tubagus Chaeri Wardana alias Wawan.
"Once again, we have not felt that we have failed in implementing TPPU in Wawan's case," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango, Tuesday, August 18.
Nawawi is sure that the appeal against the decision against TPPU Wawan by the Corruption Court will be accepted. It's just that he agreed that in the appeal process, his party encountered obstacles.
"To this day it is still constrained because I received reports from colleagues from the team of public prosecutors that we have not been able to obtain a copy of the case verdict in the intent of the corruption court," said Nawawi.
Receiving this report, Nawawi admitted that he immediately contacted the Corruption Court to ask for a copy of the verdict in Wawan's case.
"I just tried to contact the head of the Central Jakarta court why did it take so long to (get) a copy of this decision," he said.
However, he did not specify the response from the Tipikor Court. However, a copy of the decision is needed by his party to compile the appeal material that has been registered by his party. "Appeal memory material certainly requires these organs," he said.
The judge acquitted Wawan from the TPPU charges. In the indictment, Wawan is said to have transferred property to various companies and spent it on various assets, such as cars and houses. Wawan's total money laundering reached Rp. 500 billion.
However, Wawan is considered proven in the criminal act of corruption in the procurement of medical devices. In this case, Wawan was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million.
