Losing To Herta Berlin, Dortmund Failed To Shorten The Distance Between Munich And The Top Of The Standings

JAKARTA - Borussia Dortmund was forced to swallow the bitter pill when they visited Herta Berlin headquarters in the 17th week of the 2021/2022 Bundesliga. Marco Rose's side suffered a defeat which saw them fail to close the gap to leaders Bayern Munich.

The score 0-1 for Dortmund's advantage had lasted until the first half was over. However, in the second half the hosts managed to get up and could equalize, even turning ahead over Dortmund.

Berlin equalized through Belfodil in the 51st minute. After that, six minutes later, Richter managed to bring his team ahead of Dortmund with a score of 2-1.

Not only that, Berlin again got momentum because Richter again scored the second goal in the 69th minute which made the score 3-1. With the distance getting further away, Dortmund tried hard to catch up.

Their efforts had sweet fruit through Tigges kick in the 83rd minute. However, while trying to catch up, the remaining time was not in favor of the visitors because the match had to end with a score of 3-2 for the hosts.

For this result, Dortmund failed to shorten the distance with Bayern Munich at the top of the standings. Rose's team is currently only in second place with 34 points.
