In Order To Fulfill The Requirements For Homologation Of MotoGP, The Mandalika Circuit Continues To Improve
JAKARTA - The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) continues to improve the completeness of the implementation of the race as well as supporting facilities and infrastructure for the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in order to fulfill the requirements for homologation for the implementation of the 2022 MotoGP.
Quoted from Antara, Friday, MGPA also continues to coordinate intensively with a number of parties such as the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Dorna Sports, and the International Motorcycle Racing Federation (FIM) to fulfill the homologation requirements based on FIM provisions.
MGPA Vice CEO Cahyadi Wanda is optimistic that everything can be met and pass homologation before the race takes place.
"We have received appreciation from the drivers and crew of the WSBK racing team for the quality of our circuit track after the 2021 race is over. However, there are several things that we have to improve on," said Cahyadi in a written statement, Friday.
Meanwhile, Director of Operations and Business Innovation Arie Prasetyo welcomed the announcement of Dorna Sports which has determined the implementation of MotoGP in Indonesia on March 18-22 2022 and WSBK on November 11-13 2022.
"This is a testament to Dorna Sports' confidence in the readiness of the First Mandalika International Street Circuit in holding a world-class motorcycle racing event. We are also improving the quality of supporting facilities and infrastructure to increase the comfort of the racing team and spectators present," said Arie.
Currently, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is preparing to improve access to and from vehicles, pedestrians, and drainage channels around the circuit. Then the landscape arrangement and completion of the pit building construction (non-modular part) and additional grand stands will be built at 11 points surrounding the circuit for the convenience of the audience.
This addition is needed in anticipation of the number of MotoGP spectators which are expected to be more than WSBK. The entire work is targeted for completion in early March 2022.
"In addition to improving the completeness of the circuit as well as circuit facilities and infrastructure, we are also committed to improving the quality of organizing motorcycle racing events at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit so that the implementation of motorcycle racing next year will be better and meet the expectations of all motorcycle racing lovers," said Arie.
"We ask for your support so that preparations for welcoming MotoGP can run smoothly so that we can witness MotoGP motorcycle racing again in our country after a long wait of 24 years. And we believe the MotoGP event can be a trigger for the revival of the tourism industry and provide a large multiplier effect for the economy Indonesia," concluded Arie.
