In West Jakarta There Are 13 Points Of Fallen Trees Due To Rain And Wind, Causing Long Traffic Jams
JAKARTA - The West Jakarta City Government (Jakbar City Government) is dealing with fallen trees at 13 points after heavy rains and strong winds on Friday afternoon.
"There are 13 reports that have come in. We are currently handling them," said Head of the West Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department, Djauhar Arifien, when contacted in Jakarta, December 13, as reported by Antara.
Djauhar explained that a number of fallen trees occurred on Jalan Batu Mulia Kembangan Dalam, Srengseng Village, Jalan Panjang Assidiqiah, Taman Wijaya Kusama, Taman Alfa Indah Kembangan, a gas station on Jalan Meruya Ilir, the yard of the Srengseng Health Center in Kembangan District and Jalan Cambodia Saung, South Bambu City.
Also on Jalan S Parman, Jalan Haji Lebar Saung Kembangan, Jalan Kampung Gaga Semanan, Jalan Jeruk Permai 3 Kebon Jeruk and Jalan Ratu Barat Duri Kepa.
Djauhar said the majority of incoming reports were related to fallen tree branches or branches. For large fallen trees only at a few points.
As a result of the fallen tree incident, he said, several roads in the location were closed, resulting in long traffic jams.
One of the locations affected by traffic jams is in the Meruya Ilir area, Srengseng Kembangan.
"So far it has only caused a stuttering flow. There have been no reports of casualties," he said.
Until now, several officers are still handling the fallen tree.
Djauhar mobilized four to five personnel from each sub-district and village to cut tree branches and move them to the side of the road.
"My friends in the field are working. There are several points that are being handled, a total of eight trees that have been handled," explained Djauhar.
