His Name Is Viral Allegedly Insulted By The Prophet, Joseph Suryadi Is Afraid To Hide His Cellphone In The Warehouse

JAKARTA - The police stated that the cellphone belonging to the suspect in the blasphemy case, Joseph Suryadi, was not lost. Instead, it was hidden after the case went viral and the police started investigating.

"Now we have found and obtained (cellphones) from a place that the suspect had hidden," said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Thursday, December 16.

The cell phone was hidden by Joseph in the warehouse of his house. The findings of the cellphone, said Zulpan, became new evidence for investigators. In the cellphone there is a history of Joseph Suryadi's conversation about blasphemy.

"There (the cell phone) the conversation that he had uploaded related to elements of the criminal act of blasphemy has not been deleted," said Zulpan.

Previously, Joseph Suryadi had been named a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case behind the viral #TangkapJosephSuryadi. The determination of the suspect was based on several pieces of evidence and the results of the case.

In that case, Josep Suryadi was charged with Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 1 and/or Article 28 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law No. 16 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law No. 11 of 2016 concerning information and electronic transactions and/or Article 156. Criminal Code and/or Article 156 a of the Criminal Code.
