Pranowo's Praise For Jokowi's Speed In Dealing With High Garlic Imports
WONOSOBO - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo accompanied President Joko Widodo's working visit to Central Java. A number of locations were visited by the president, one of which was visiting the national food estate in Lambuk Village, Wonosobo Regency.
In that place, Ganjar accompanied Jokowi to plant chilies, garlic and a number of other horticultural seeds. Jokowi and Ganjar also invited the farmers in the area to have a dialogue.
"Earlier, the President had a dialogue with the farmers, they were very happy. So excited, they asked the President to come again to harvest chilies and onions," said Ganjar, Tuesday, December 14.
Many things were discussed at the meeting. Including the question of garlic, which according to Ganjar is the concern of President Jokowi.
"What has to be taken care of today is garlic, that's number one. Because our imports are still high and when farmers harvest, the price falls," he explained.
Ganjar appreciated Jokowi's quick steps, who immediately called the Minister of Trade. Jokowi asked that there be a way out of the problem.
"This is the best way in my opinion and must be executed immediately. So that those farmers who harvest, also get the right results," he said.
In addition, Jokowi continued, Ganjar also gave a message regarding the selection of superior seeds. That way, the production results will be the best.
"The seeds must be the best. If that is the case, then we must be number one," he concluded.
Apart from visiting the food estate in Wonosobo, Jokowi and Ganjar also visited a number of locations. Among them are planting onions and inaugurating the Bansari Temanggung reservoir and providing assistance to a number of traders at the Wonosobo Kertek Market.
