A Threat To Paul Lumihi In ONE Championship, Jhanlo Sangiao: I Believe I Can Beat Him

JAKARTA - Indonesian fighter Paul Lumihi must prepare well as his potential opponent, Jhanlo Sangiao from the Philippines, is starting to pose a threat ahead of the ONE Championship match which will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore next Friday.

Sangiao is a 19-year-old fighter and the son of Team Lakay legend Mark Sangiao. Meanwhile, Paul Lumihi is a veteran fighter who wants to turn things around in his MMA career.

The fight in the bantamweight class is clearly eagerly awaited because it will determine the next step for the free fighter athlete.

"I think he (Lumihi) is the oldest fighter I've ever faced. I've fought older fighters when I was in the amateurs, but never this old, he was at least 28 at the time. I feel young age is an advantage that I have. I feel stronger, younger and I believe I can beat him", said Sangiao who is 14 years younger than Paul Lumihi, quoting Antara, Tuesday.

Paul Lumihi (33) is a former featherweight OPMM champion with a wealth of experience, both professional and amateur. He is experienced in martial arts kung fu, taekwondo, wushu, Muay Thai, and others.

It's no exaggeration if Paul Lumihi is the toughest opponent for Sangiao's rising career. Seeing the style of each fighter, Sangiao also believes that he will have several advantages that will be different in this match.

"Based on what I've seen, he's more of a striking fighter and will have a hard time-fighting at the bottom, whether it's being locked down at the bottom or getting into trouble at the bottom. But whatever it is, how the fight will turn out, I will beat it. But of course, I also don't want to be too confident”, said the fighter who was nicknamed "The Machine".

"Of course I am a fighter with a better striking style. It seems that I have a lot of advantages in any way. I am younger, more powerful and I also train with some of the world's best striking fighters. Like world champion Joshua Pacio, training with Danny Kingdad and of course training with the deadliest fighter in ONE, Kevin Belingon", Sangiao concluded.

Being a member of Team Lakay gives Sangiao access to some of the most talented and experienced fighters in ONE Championship, including former lightweight world champion Eduard "Landslide” Folayang, former world bantamweight champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, and reigning strawweight world champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio.
