Jusuf Kalla Invites Muslim Community To Study Business Among Chinese, This Is Comments From Conglomerate Chairul Tanjung
JAKARTA – The entrepreneurial spirit has never been separated from Jusuf Kalla. The former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in two different periods of government encouraged the Muslim community in the country to be able to gain knowledge from those of Chinese descent who are known to be persistent and diligent in doing business.
“Chinese people can be more advanced because they are also measurable, they have five children, each of which is given a shop by their parents, so their entrepreneurs have increased by five. It's different from those of us whose children want to become soldiers, police officers", he said when speaking at a discussion forum held by MUI, Saturday, December 11.
He then compared this condition with the phenomenon of conglomeration in Indonesia, which still has minimal contributions from Muslim entrepreneurs.
“Out of 10 rich people in Indonesia, only one is Muslim (Chairul Tanjung). If we are in the list of 100, we will only enter eight", he said.
Another comparison presented by JK, Jusuf Kalla's nickname, is about the expansion of China's superior products that can penetrate traditional boundaries.
“In Saudi Arabia there is a big shop where 90 percent of the goods come from China. If the economy selects religion, then what should be there should be Indonesian products, not from China because we are predominantly Muslim", he said.

One thing that JK appreciates is the government's willingness to provide low-cost financing to small entrepreneurs through the People's Business Credit (KUR).
"This KUR really helps our entrepreneurs", he said.
Separately, conglomerate Chairul Tanjung (CT) once said that economic progress cannot be separated from the willingness of the people to change their mindset so far.
“People must be able to transform, especially in their mindset, because if not, it will be very difficult to become an entrepreneur. The role of scholars is also important here how to provide direction and guidance that to reach the afterlife we also need the world. So, winning in this world will also win in the hereafter", he said as previously reported by VOI.
As for the business world, the CT Corps boss hopes that more religious leaders will emerge who will become important players in the Indonesian economy.
"We need more and more companies owned by the people, so that from the start the goals and profits are used for the greatest benefit of all. These are all important collaboration factors for the economic revival of the people", concluded Chairul Tanjung.
