JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in a number of areas in Indonesia. With the weather like this, you have to prepare an umbrella before it rains.
Based on information compiled by Antara from the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Sunday, December 12, the weather is predicted to occur in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands and Lampung.
The weather forecast also applies to West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan.
Heavy rains are also predicted in North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.
Areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds are DKI Jakarta, South Sulawesi, and North Maluku.

The BMKG has warned of 2.5-4 meter high waves, including in the southern waters of Java to Lombok, West Lampung waters, West Indian Ocean Sumatra, Enggano waters - Bengkulu, and northern waters of Manokwari - Biak Island. In addition, it is necessary to watch out for very high waves of 4-6 meters in the North Natuna Sea.
The shipping sector is expected to pay attention to the high wave warning issued by the BMKG, which is valid from Sunday 12 December) at 07.00 WIB to Monday 13 December at 07.00 WIB.
