His Club Kicked Out Of The Champions League, Barcelona President: Sad But Work Must Continue
JAKARTA - Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, spoke about the failure of his team in the Champions League. Laporta admits he is disappointed but thinks, whatever happens, work must continue.
"We are saddened by this result, but we have to keep working", said Laporta, quoted by Marca, Friday, December 10.
Barcelona must end its struggle in the Champions League after losing 0-3 to Bayern Munich in the final match of Group E on Wednesday. The result left Barcelona only sitting in third with seven points and being thrown into the play-offs of the Europa League.
The absence of Barcelona in the Champions League this season is then considered by Laporta to have a positive side, namely so that his team can improve themselves more maturely. Laporta will also communicate with management to resolve this difficult situation.

"This is a moment for us to improve and try to restore the situation. We will talk on the plane with the technical team", he said.
"We have done what we are capable of and now have to try to handle this situation even better", Laporta added.
The expulsion of Barcelona from the Champions League this season seems to be a sign of a decline in quality. Whereas previously Barcelona had collected five Big Ear trophies in the past few years.
Furthermore, the fate of Barcelona will only be determined when the draw for the last 32 of the Europa League takes place on Monday, December 13 local time.
