A Teenager In Ciputat Orders Synthetic Tobacco Raw Materials From The Netherlands
JAKARTA - The distribution of drugs in the postal mode has been successfully uncovered by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN). This practice is known to have been going on for a long time and had tricked the officers.
A teenager with the initials PAL, a resident of Buntu Raya, Kampung Gintung, East Ciputat, South Tangerang, is a suspect in this case.
From the results of the disclosure, officers secured a postal package containing a yellow crystal. Allegedly, the goods are the basic ingredients for the manufacture of synthetic tobacco.
After being investigated, the package came from the Netherlands. Perpetrators use online transactions in ordering. So, to avoid officers' suspicions, the postal service is chosen in delivering packages.

The head of the South Tangerang BNN, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Renny Puspita, explained that delivery using courier services was chosen by drug users because it guarantees security in avoiding being tracked by officers.
“In the past year, there have been a lot of online purchases. I have seen that the police (Satnarkoba) also have a lot online. Because if they buy it directly, they already know they are afraid of being provoked or something," he said.
Renny explained that one example of a case that had been handled by BNN was the disclosure of the delivery of synthetic tobacco materials via postal services in Cirendeu, East Ciputat on November 5, 2021.
"So there has been a lot of diverts via online. Use a courier service by post, parcel courier, it's there. If there is no gojek, so far there has not been one," he said.
