44 Former KPK Employees Become Police State Civil Apparatus, MAKI: They Remain Loyal To The Government

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman said the decision of 44 former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees who accepted the offer to be appointed as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the National Police (Polri) was a form of loyalty to Novel Baswedan and his friends towards the legitimate government.

According to Boyamin, any initiative by the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to recruit 57 former KPK employees (now 56) to become National Police ASN has been approved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"The first is that they remain the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Second, this shows that they remain loyal to the legitimate government. Whatever this is the President's order, it proves that 44 people are royal to the President to become Polri ASNs," said Boyamin, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 8.

Boyamin appreciated both parties, the government and former KPK employees, which initially numbered 57 people, now there are 56 people because one person died, for the greatness of his soul. The government wants to recruit and 56 former KPK employees want to be recruited.

According to Boyamin, the rhetoric that has been built so far is that the government wants to strengthen the eradication of corruption, as evidenced by recruiting 57 former KPK employees who are deemed not to have passed the National Insight Test (TWK) to become Polri ASN.

"This means that, although the term is weakening the KPK with TWK, in fact the government is still proud to recruit them (Novel cs), so it is not weakening at all," said Boyamin.

What is happening today, said Boyamin, shows that there is still a good side from the government, namely recruiting those who are considered not to have passed the TWK to become ASN. It took the generosity of 44 former KPK employees to accept the offer to be recruited as ASN after being declared not to have passed the TWK.

Because, Boyamin continued, if both parties followed their respective egos, it would be difficult to find a common ground. On the one hand, the government considers that Novel Baswedan and his friends did not pass the TWK, while the 56 former KPK employees consider the TWK as something that is made up, there is no legal basis, logical basis or philosophical basis, so they are against failing to pass the TWK.

Therefore, said Boyamin, the government was called to take care of Indonesia through eradicating corruption, so the 44 former KPK employees were also called to be willing to become ASN.

"Both of these parties also sacrificed for the good of the nation and state, and I give my appreciation and I don't think these 44 friends are just following their egos," said Boyamin.

Boyamin added that the willingness of 44 former KPK employees to become Polri ASN requires a lot of sacrifices, such as the tasks that will be carried out. Previously, the KPK was in charge of prosecution, now it is in the field of prevention.

"Maybe in terms of salary there is also a difference, it must be down from what happened at the KPK," said Boyamin revealing.

Boyamin emphasized that he did not doubt the loyalty of 44 former KPK employees to the eradication of corruption, but was declared dead by TWK. So that he appreciates the attitude of 44 former KPK employees who are still willing to become ASN in the police environment.

Because, Boyamin continued, even though there was ridicule and ridicule from parties who did not like the 44 former KPK employees who were considered looking for work, Novel Baswedan and his friends were still heartened by choosing to become ASN.

"Even though they are not job seekers at all, I know that, but they are still ASN. Because I'm sure, not being ASN they have been trained all this time and they can work anywhere," said Boyamin.

Boyamin added that 44 former KPK employees were willing to become ASN Polri to remove the stigma that they did not pass the TWK, it was proven that they were recruited by the government.

"In this sense, why are they willing to become ASN, because the main thing is to remove the stigma of not passing TWK, then they are still willing to devote themselves to their nation and country," said Boyamin.
