The Ormas Substation In Kembangan, West Jakarta, Was Demolished By The Apparatus, Turned Into A Prayer Room So That Residents Are Safe And Calm
JAKARTA – Due to the commotion between community organizations (ormas) in the Joglo area, Kembangan, West Jakarta, a number of ormas organization posts (posts) have been turned into prayer rooms to give residents a sense of security and calm.
"We have converted something like in RW 3, where we have an FBR post, we will convert it as a prayer room and become a taklim assembly," said Police Chief Kompol Khoiri to reporters, Tuesday, December 7.
In total, there are 15 ormas organization posts that will be converted as houses of worship. The 15 posts were converted into houses of worship based on the approval of the mass organizations.
In addition, his party is also lowering the flag of the mass organization symbol attached to the Kembangan area.
The flag of mass organizations may only fly within three days during certain events. If there is no activity, the flag of the mass organization must be lowered based on Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order.
"Today we have lowered 30 flags. This activity has no deadline, so it will continue to roll," he said.
Khoiri hopes that this effort can suppress the previously warring mass organizations so that residents can live safely and calmly.
Previously, a commotion between two mass organizations occurred in the Joglo area on Sunday, November 14. The fight that occurred that night led to the death of a member of the mass organization with the initials DA (27).
The police also carried out an investigation until they finally caught one suspect with the initials NZ. NZ was arrested by officers while he was working in the South Jakarta area.
From the suspect's hands, the police confiscated several pieces of evidence, such as clothes worn at the time of the incident, motorbikes and sharp weapons.
