Heru Hidayat Demands Death Penalty, 5 Other Asabri Corruption Convicts 10-15 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - Five defendants in the alleged corruption case in the management of PT Social Insurance for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (Asabri) Persero are being prosecuted for 10 to 15 years in prison.
Four people were found guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together from Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
While one person was proven guilty of corruption based on the primary indictment of Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and the crime of money laundering from Article 3 of Law No. 8 of 2010 concerning Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.
The first is the President Director of PT Asabri 2012-March 2016 Major General Retired Adam Rachmat Damiri who was sentenced to 10 years in prison plus a fine of Rp750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
"To charge the defendant with a replacement money of Rp17.9 billion provided that if the convict does not pay the replacement money at the latest within 1 month after the decision has permanent legal force, then his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money and if the convict does not have If you have sufficient assets to cover the replacement money, you will be sentenced to 5 years in prison," said the Public Prosecutor of the Attorney General's Office at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) quoted by Antara, Monday, December 6.
Furthermore, Director of Investment and Finance of PT Asabri 2012 - June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi was sentenced to 12 years in prison, plus a fine of Rp750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
"To charge the defendant with replacement money of Rp453.7 million provided that if the convict does not pay the replacement money at the latest within 1 month after the decision has permanent legal force, then his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor's office and auctioned to cover the replacement money. However, if the convict does not If you have sufficient assets to cover the replacement money, you will be sentenced to 6 years in prison," said the prosecutor.
Then the President Director of PT Eureka Prima Jakarta Tbk (LCGP) Lukman Purnomosidi was sentenced to 13 years in prison plus a fine of Rp750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
"To charge the defendant with replacement money of Rp1.341 trillion provided that if the convict does not pay the replacement money at the latest within 1 month after the decision has permanent legal force, then his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor's office and auctioned to cover the replacement money and if the convict does not have the property that is sufficient to cover the replacement money will be punished with 6.5 years in prison," said the prosecutor.

Meanwhile, Director of Investment and Finance of PT Asabri July 2014-August 2019 Hari Setianto was demanded to be in prison for 14 years plus a fine of Rp750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
Lastly, the Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations Jimmy Sutopo was charged with 15 years in prison plus a fine of IDR750 million, subsidiary of 6 months in prison, for being proven guilty of corruption and money laundering.
"To charge the defendant with replacement money of Rp314.8 billion provided that if the convict does not pay the replacement money at the latest within 1 month after the decision has permanent legal force, then his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money.
If the convict does not have sufficient assets to cover the replacement money, he will be sentenced to 7.5 years in prison," said the prosecutor.
Two other defendants, in this case, have undergone a trial reading of their demands, namely the President Director (Director) of PT Asabri March 2016-July 2020 Lt. Gen. Purn Sonny Widjaja who is being charged with 10 years in prison, plus a fine of Rp750 million subsidiaries 6 months in prison.
In addition, he was also required to pay compensation in the amount of Rp64.5 billion, subsidiary to 5 years in prison, while President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat who demanded the death penalty and Rp12.434 trillion in compensation.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk. Benny Tjokrosaputro is still undergoing trial.
All acts of alleged corruption by the defendants resulted in state losses of Rp22.788 trillion from the management of PT Asabri (Persero) funds.
