Police Arrest 8 Male Burners Alive In Langkat, North Sumatra

MEDAN - Police have uncovered the murder of a man named Darwin Sitepu who was burned alive, in Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

In this disclosure, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Binjai Police arrested 8 people suspected of the sadistic murder case of Darwin Sitepu.

The Head of Public Relations of the Binjai Police, Iptu Junaidi, confirmed the arrest.

"That's right, we have arrested a total of 8 people. For now, it is still in the process of being investigated," said Iptu Junaidi to VOI, Monday, December 6.

Iptu Junaidi explained that the arrests of the alleged perpetrators were carried out in stages. According to him, the police have been looking for the perpetrators since the incident took place.

"Gradually from the incident until yesterday," he said.

However, Iptu Junaidi was reluctant to explain in detail the chronology of the arrests. He also did not reveal the identity of the alleged perpetrators of the arson.

"It's still being investigated, when it's clear, it will be informed," he said.

As previously reported, Darwin Sitepu (38), a resident of Dusun II Lorong Church, Durian Lingga Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, was burned alive by a group of men, Thursday, December 2.

The victim died when Darwin was sitting in a hut in Kuta Jering Hamlet, Belinteng Village, Sei Bingei District, Langkat Regency with his colleagues.

He was visited by a group of men with the initials FD asking the victim to leave the hut. However, the alleged perpetrator's request was ignored by the victim.

The victim and the perpetrator were involved in a verbal altercation and ended up being beaten by FD's colleagues. Using the butt of an air rifle, the victim, who felt threatened, tried to fight back.

Unfortunately, the resistance was reciprocated. FD's colleague, who had provided a bucket of gasoline, immediately threw it all over the victim's body. Simultaneously, FD extinguished the matchstick and Darwin's victim was engulfed in flames.

Seeing the victim who was floundering in the fire. Fellow victims, seek help and report the incident to the police. Meanwhile, FD and his colleagues fled the scene.
