The Figure Of The Late Idang Rasjidi In The Eyes Of Dewa Budjana: Mas Idang Likes His Comments

JAKARTA - Guitarist and songwriter, I Dewa Gede Budjana or Dewa Budjana has a lot of memories with the late Idang Rasjidi during his lifetime. Even though it still leaves deep sorrow, Dewa Budjana said that he still has memories of playing music.

"There are so many memories. Mas Idang likes how magical his comments and their meanings are," he told VOI after the funeral procession at the Kampung Kandang TPU, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Sunday, December 5.

Even when Dewa Budjana played music with the late Idang Rasjidi on the island of Bali, Dewa said they didn't practice playing music first.

"I was once invited to play in Bali for two months with the intention that we would practice every day. For 2 months, Mas Idang never practiced. So in the end, how come we never practice like this," recalled Dewa Budjana.

Dewa Budjana admits that during his life, Idang Rasjidi used to play music without practicing.

"But Mas Idang doesn't need to practice jamming straight away," he said.

Dewa Budjana's close relationship with Idang is not limited to music alone. Dewa Budjana is also very close to the Idang family.

"Shadu hasn't been born yet, but Shadu is very close to me. If Shadu plays with me, Mas Idang always calls and he's definitely her. Anyway, Shadu is okay, you think of yourself as a child. It's wrong to get angry. If you tell me the story is like that," said Dewa Budjana. As is known, legendary jazz musician Idang Rasjidi or Chaidar Rasjidi is buried in Block A15, TPU Kampung Kandang, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. A number of the country's top musicians were also present to release the late Idang.

Idang Rasjidi had complications from diabetes mellitus, gout, kidney, back calcification, lack of albumin, and protein.

Idang had received intensive care at the Azra Hospital, Bogor, West Java. Idang Rasjidi died at the age of 63 on Saturday, December 4, the night.
