5 Villages In North Aceh Submerged By Floods
BANDA ACEH - Five villages in Matang Kuli sub-district, North Aceh district, were flooded by the overflowing water of the Krueng (River) Keureuto following heavy rains that hit the area.
"Heavy rains have been going on since Friday (3/12) night, causing Krueng Keureuto to overflow into residential areas in five villages," said the Acting Head of the North Aceh Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Murzani, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 4.
Even though it was hit by floods, said Murzani, until now people are still staying in their respective homes. The height of the flood reached 30 centimeters.
The five villages in Matang Kuli sub-district that were hit by the flood were Tumpok Barat Village, Meuria Village, Hagu Village, Alue Tho Village, and Lawang Village.
"Meanwhile, the number of houses affected by the flood is currently still being collected by officers. However, we estimate that hundreds of houses are flooded," said Murzani.

"We also ask the sub-district and local village officials to report on the development of the flood and ask the BPBD team in charge to continue to monitor the flood location, considering that until this afternoon the water flow continues to increase," said Murzani.
