Losing To The South Korean Representative, Greysia/Apriyani: We Must Prepare Our Minds And Mentalities For Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's doubles, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, won an unsatisfactory result on the second day of the 2021 World Tour Final (WTF). Facing representatives from South Korea, Kim Soyeong/Kong Heeyong, they lost after going through two games.

Despite the defeat, Greysia/Apriyani appeared sporty by acknowledging the strength of the opponent. Greysia said the South Korean representative's appearance was better at this meeting.

"Obviously we always want to come to the field to win and indeed, we admit that Korea performed better than us today," said Greysia after the match, quoted from information received by VOI.

Greysia/Apriyani face Soyeong/Heeyong in the second match of WTF 2021, Thursday, December 2. In the meeting at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua, the battle lasted two games but the Korean representative secured the victory with a score of 21-15 and 21-18.

Despite today's poor results, Greysia didn't want to be too late. According to her, they must return to focus for the next game.

"We have to prepare our minds and mentally for tomorrow. That's all," said Greysia.

Apriyani also added that they did not want to play by guessing opportunities because it would only burden themselves. For that, in order to get a good chance, they just need to focus on each step.

"Honestly, I personally don't think about the target, or what will happen later. Honestly, we, me too, prepare day by day. So I don't think about what will happen later," Apriyani added.

"The thing is, if you have too many thoughts, you feel like you're dizzy, so just focus on one at a time. So you don't have to think about it too much," she said.

After losing on the second day, Greysia/Apriyani still had a chance to perform better in the third match. They will face Malaysia's Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan on Friday.
