Encouraging Mubaligh To Be Technological Literacy, Deputy Governor Of Riau Islands: So That They Can Prevent Hoaxes And Fragile Narratives

KEPRI - Deputy Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri) Marlin Agustina invites missionaries to take advantage of technological advances to convey their symbols and da'wah. Moreover, the area consists of 96 percent of the sea with 2,408 islands spread widely.

"This digital era and technological advances can be used to spread da'wah," said Deputy Governor Marlin in Tanjungpinang, Antara, Monday, November 29.

Marlin said that missionaries certainly have their own strategy in spreading the digital da'wah symbols. He hopes that messages of kindness and various da'wah materials can be more widely spread through the use of technology.

"This includes being able to ward off hoaxes and divisive narratives," said Marlin.

Even so, he said, missionaries still need to travel around Riau Islands, stop from one island to another, also visit districts/cities to coordinate and strengthen each other.

According to him, the presence of missionaries in the midst of society in broadcasting da'wah is an important part in realizing a generation of character and noble character.

He said the Riau Islands Provincial Government had also prepared a budget of Rp. 3 billion for the needs of 50 missionaries to the islands for a full year. The budget was allocated in 2022.

"We hope that da'wah interpreters can be the guardians of national unity and harmony and create quality Muslims and have the Islamic character of rahmatan lil alamin," said Marlin.
