Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, explained that this incident was initiated when a police officer reprimanded residents on Jalan Paradiso, Dekai District, Yahukimo on the night of August 8.

"Brigadier Ferdinand Arifin Wali reprimanded the person to remove the headset so he could hear the sound, but one resident did not accept it and then took a wooden block to hit Brigadier Ferdinand," said Kamal in his written statement, Monday, August 10.

This incident was witnessed by Aipda Mukharam Imanailo and Bripka Amir Mulu who also intervened. At the same time, a car stopped at the location. According to Kamal, car passengers shouted at First Brigadier Ferdinand.

Two other police officers broke up again. But suddenly the whole car got out and attacked by throwing stones at the three police personnel.
