Two Lebak Village Officials Become Suspects, Detained In Rangkasbitung Prison
BANTEN - The Rangkasbitung District Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) has named two officers from the Pasir Kecapi Village, Lebak Regency, as suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the 2020 Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) amounting to Rp661 million.
"The two suspects, EM and LM, after undergoing direct examination, were placed in detention at the Rangkasbitung Prison," said Lebak Chief Prosecutor ST Hapsari in an official statement, Lebak, Friday, November 26.
The determination of the two village apparatus suspects was carried out after an investigation and examination of alleged corruption in the 2020 APBDes was carried out.
Where the 2020 APBDes in Kecapi Village, Maja District, Lebak Regency is Rp. 2.6 billion.
However, the two suspects as finance officers and local village financial staff are suspected of having misused the APBDes funds.
Misuse of the funds by transferring the village cash account savings book to personal accounts and people's accounts by falsifying the signature of the village head.
"The loss of state money in the 2020 APBDes amounted to Rp. 661 million and they used it for personal purposes, including building houses and vehicles," he explained as quoted by Antara.
The suspects were charged with Article 2, Article 3 and Article 8 in conjunction with Article 18 and in conjunction with Article 55 of Law Number 31/1999 concerning corruption, with a maximum penalty of 20 years.
