Worried About The Spike In COVID-19 Such As Eid, PDIP Politicians Remind People To Raise Awareness Of Not Going Home At The End Of The Year

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the DPR RI, Rahmad Handoyo, reminded all components of the nation to increase public awareness so as not to travel (homecoming) during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Moreover, there is a new threat from COVID-19 that has occurred in several countries.

According to him, the decision to ban going home from the government is a good right as a form of state protection for the community. .

Rahmad considered that facing the threat of the corona virus, including preventing the possibility of a third wave of entry, would not work effectively if it was only carried out unilaterally by the government. “This means that we can control COVID-19 and turn the pandemic into an endemic if all elements of the nation, including the community, move together. After all, we all want to be safe, right? Yes, all of us, the government, the community must fight together. After all, if we don't fight for our safety, then who else?" said the PDIP politician.

The Central Java legislator then recalled the tragic events in the country after Lebaran 2021. At that time, said Rahmad, the government had implemented a ban on going home.

However, the reality is that there are still many people who don't care and are desperate to return to their hometowns. Finally, there was a spike in cases. "Well, we need to remind the public to reflect on the situation after Lebaran last July, where thousands of people died every day, hospitals were almost paralyzed. Of course we don't want the heartbreaking incident after Lebaran and then repeated in the new year later," he said.
