Police Arrest 10 Perpetrators Of Sexual Abuse And Persecution Of Teenage Girls In Malang
JAKARTA - Malang City Resort Police have arrested 10 suspected perpetrators of child abuse that occurred in the Malang City area, East Java.
Malang City Police Chief, AKBP Budi Hermanto, said all of the alleged perpetrators of the abuse, including one alleged perpetrator of sexual intercourse, were still children.
"Yesterday, we arrested approximately ten people suspected of committing acts of violence or sexual intercourse", said Budi.
Budi explained that the police received a report regarding the incident of assaulting the 13-year-old victim on November 19, 2021, or one day after the incident. The police also obtained video footage of the abuse which later went viral on social media.
According to the Police Chief, after receiving the report, a team from the Malang City Police examined several witnesses, including the evidence received. There are several items of evidence that were secured in this case.
Several items of evidence that were secured were the clothes used by the alleged perpetrators which were matched with the video, including the stolen mobile phone belonging to the victim and another cell phone used to record the persecution.
"From the suitability of the evidence, we arrested ten people who were suspected of committing criminal acts last night", he said.
AKBP Budi emphasized that the victims and the alleged perpetrators are currently still children so that in handling them, they will cooperate with psychologists, the Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment, and the Correctional Center.
"In this case, we convey that the victims and perpetrators are still children", he said.

Previously, a 2-minute and 29-second video recording of student abuse was circulated showing acts of violence perpetrated by several fellow victims. The victim of abuse and persecution who is a female is still approximately 13 years old.
In the video that was spread, the victim, who was seen still wearing the uniform, was persecuted by a number of her colleagues. The incident was reported to have occurred in the Blimbing District, Malang City on November 18.
