MediaTek Competing Qualcomm, Admits The New Chip Won't Overheat The Phone
JAKARTA - Not long ago, the chipset made by Qualcomm, namely Snapdragon 888, was claimed to cause overheating or overheating on high-end smartphones.
Because of this event, Qualcomm's tough competitor MediaTek learned quite a bit from it. Hence, MediaTek launched a series of 4nm mobile chips on the Dimensity 9000, which should be a viable alternative to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1.
"We are very confident and clearly testing this chipset for our customers and the feedback we get is very promising. When comparing the device to what we think our competitors will have, we believe that next year we will have a power advantage for flagships," said the representative. MediaTek president and general manager of marketing, Finbarr Moynihan.
As information quoted from Gizchina, Tuesday, November 23, MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 adopts 4 nm fabrication, Cortex-X2 3.0 GHz core, 3x CPU Cortex-A710 2.85 GHz, and 4x CPU Cortex-A510 1.8 GHz.
Furthermore, the new chip also has a Mali-G710, GPU with a 20 percent performance increase over its powerful predecessor, which supports Full HD Plus screen resolution with a refresh rate of 180 Hz for a smooth screen display. Camera support with 320 MP resolution, LPDDR5x RAM (up to 7500 Mbps), and Bluetooth 5.3 protocol.
However, the presence of a high-performance Cortex-X2 core makes users worry about the possibility that the chip can cause overheating of the phone.

Snapdragon 888/888+ with Cortex-X1 core shows a tendency to increase heating. Will this issue also affect the Dimensity 9000?
Moynihan states the subtle quip is not going to happen, "Now only one company has a problem with overheating, and this is not MediaTek," he stressed.
Apart from that, MediaTek also assured that the chip shortage will not affect the company's flagship processor. They will provide sufficient capacity for the release of top-end solutions next year.
It's also worth noting that the Dimensity 9000 doesn't actually have mmWave support. But a MediaTek spokesperson said that next year the first Dimensity chip will launch with mmWave-toting technology, which will be one step below the Dimensity 9000.
