BNPB Sends A Team To Study The Causes Of Floods In Central Kalimantan
PALANGKA RAYA - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Major General Suharyanto said his party immediately dispatched a team to study the causes of flooding in a number of areas in Central Kalimantan.
In a brief field review, BNPB had a dialogue about the causes of flooding, ranging from high rainfall, residents' housing that is parallel to and even lower than the river, to possible damage in upstream areas.
"And maybe, this is still possible, environmental damage upstream, this cannot be decided or declared now, a comprehensive study will be made from the local government and from BNPB will send a team to find out exactly what the cause is," he continued, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.
From the results of the analysis, appropriate and comprehensive steps will be formulated with a medium-term target of at least the end of 2022, no more flooding like this.
"Why at the end of 2022, because it is estimated that the rainfall is the same as at the end of 2021," he explained.
Suharyanto emphasized that the flood-affected handling team had entered and went to the field, both the TNI, Polri, and BNPB, and others had taken steps to help the community.
"For the team who will see the cause, this will be taken down as soon as possible, after it recedes, it will continue to monitor and collect information, so that the cause will be known for sure," he explained on the sidelines of the flood review and the people in the evacuation sites.

"We see together that the things that must be held are available, there are already posts, the data is quite complete, to the public kitchen with a fairly good menu," he said.
In addition, Suharyanto requested that there be no blaming each other, so that all can unite in the current flood mitigation efforts and prevent it from happening again in the future.
