Dandim: KKB Allegedly Received Weapons And Ammunition From PNG

JAYAPURA - The armed criminal group (KKB) led by Tendius Gwijangge is suspected of receiving supplies of ammunition and firearms from Papua New Guinea.

"Indeed, there are indications that the KKB received supplies from PNG, so the shooting took a long time, as happened at the Suru-suru Preparatory Koramil, Saturday (20/11)," said Dandim 1715 Yahukimo, Papua, Lt. Col. Inf. Cristian Irreuw, quoted by Antara, Sunday, 21 November.

The Dandim explained that the alleged gunfight in Suru-suru reportedly took place from 06.00 eastern Indonesia time to 12.00 eastern Indonesia time.

"I have asked the Koramil members to make a complete report," said Dandim 1715 Yahukimo.

According to him, KKB is suspected of buying weapons and ammunition by selling gold from panning. In Yahukimo Regency, there are indeed several gold panning locations.

Lt. Col. Inf. Irreuw has ordered all soldiers to be on alert considering that prior to the incident at the Suru-suru Koramil, there was information about the KKB that would attack the Kodim and military posts.

"Members are currently on standby to anticipate attacks at posts," added Lt. Col. Inf. Irreuw.

The KKB attack on the Suru-suru Koramil, Saturday, November 20, left one TNI personnel dead and another injured.

Both of them have now been evacuated, both Sertu Ari Baskoro's body was flown to Surabaya and then to his hometown in Kendal, Central Java, and Captain Inf Arviandi who served as Suru-suru Koramil Commander was treated at RST Marthen Indey Jayapura.
