Up 0,78 Percent, Central Java UMP 2022 Set At Rp1,812,935

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government has set the 2022 provincial minimum wage (UMP) at Rp1,812,935, an increase of 0.78 percent from the previous year.

The determination of the UMP is contained in the Decree of the Governor of Central Java Number 561/37 concerning the Determination of the Minimum Wage for Central Java Province in 2022.

The determination of the UMP includes mandatory rules for companies to develop a structure and scale of wages for workers with more than one year of service.

"The UMP as referred to in the first dictum applies to workers with a working period of less than one year," said Ganjar in a written statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

In the decree, Ganjar also emphasized in the fourth dictum regarding the structure and scale of wages, namely that the company provides wages above the UMP to workers with a working period of one year or more.

The amount is also not arbitrary, but must pay attention to at least 1.28 percent inflation and 0.97 percent economic growth rate.

"This governor's decision comes into effect on January 1, 2022," Ganjar wrote in the sixth dictum.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office of Central Java Province, Sakina Rosellasari, explained that the determination of the UMP was based on the calculation of the formula from PP 36/2021 Article 26 and figures from the Central Statistics Agency in accordance with the letter from the Minister of Manpower to the Governors of Central Java.

"Companies should pay attention to workers, both for a period of less than 1 year and more than 1 year so that there is a difference between new workers and old workers, there is a sense of justice," she said.

Sakina added that companies that do not implement the minimum wage and do not develop a structure and scale of wages will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

If there are findings of implementation violations, they should be reported to the Central Java Provincial Government Complaints Channel, Gub Report, Public Services and Call Center of the Central Java Province Manpower, and Transmigration Office 089652933444.
