Social Minister Risma's Strict Warning For Sibongit Landslide Victims: I Ask Refugees Not To Come Back

SIBOLANGIT - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, asked people affected by landslides in Hamlet 3 of Rumah Kinangkung Village, Sibolangit, Deli Serdang Regency not to return home. Because it is still prone to aftershocks.

"I ask the refugees not to return, because the conditions are dangerous. We will help free the land for relocation," said Tri Rismaharini when visiting the refugee camp in Hamlet 1 Rumah Kinangkung, Deli Serdang Regency, as reported by Antara, Friday, November 19 morning.

Risma said there were 15 heads of families affected by the landslide at the scene. "If the land is ready, we can immediately process it," he said.

According to Risma, the relocation of the house will free up land belonging to one of the residents in Hamlet 1 Rumah Kinangkung because based on observations of the contours of the land which are relatively safe from landslides.

"Hopefully the process will be fast so we can immediately occupy a new place," he said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs will use the disaster site as a restoration area to strengthen cliffs. "We will create a landslide prevention program for the people's roads," he said.

Risma added that the land on the slopes of Dusun 3 would be casted and bamboo would be planted to bind the slopes to prevent landslides.

"We are assisted by the sub-district head and village head, we prepare food reserves for 75 families. We have prepared it," he said. The landslide incident in Rumah Kinangkung Village, Tangguren III Hamlet, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency was triggered by heavy rain. As a result, road access to the village was cut off.

The access road can be passed after heavy equipment arrives and clears the landslide material that has blocked the three-meter wide road.

It was reported that one resident was injured on behalf of Masa Tarigan due to an avalanche and another died on behalf of Rasmiken Borginting (67).
