JAKARTA - The mobile phone distributor company PT Tiphone Mobile Indonesia Tbk (TELE) has made a reshuffle in the management line. This has been decided in the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) held by the company on Thursday 18 November.

One of the decisions at the Tiphone GMS was to agree to appoint Sofyan Basir as the President Commissioner as well as the Independent Commissioner. Meanwhile, other commissioner positions were filled by Henry Christiadi and Heriawan.

In addition to the seats on the Board of Commissioners, the composition of TELE's board of directors has also changed with the inclusion of Muhammad Syawaluddin and Ofan Sofwan as Directors. Meanwhile, the position of President Director is still held by Tan Lie Pin and Gatot Bekti Haryono is still a Director.

Tiphone Mobile Indonesia's Corporate Secretary Semuel Kurniawan said that with the presence of several new faces in management who have experience in the business world, he hopes the company can develop its business even better in the future.

"Our long experience in the distribution network that has been built so far has become the strength and basic foundation for us to offer to operators and other business partners to work together and bring mutual benefits to the parties," said Semuel in his written statement.

In the future, Tiphone plans to focus on developing digital services and strengthening modern distribution through collaboration with banking circles and modern channels.

Semuel said this was an effort to increase income after reaching peace with creditors. According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years has caused business transformation to change rapidly and change the habits of cellular subscribers, which is marked by the increasing number of digital and online services.

"We see an opportunity or opportunity that will become the company's focal point in the future, where it becomes the company's reference in future business development, namely digital sales services," he said.

Semuel admits that in recent years, the company's revenue has been contributed more from the sale of vouchers through traditional networks or outlets spread throughout Indonesia as well as cooperation with hundreds of thousands of existing retailers.

Furthermore, he said, in 2022 TELE will focus on developing voucher distribution through modern networks, especially with banks whose portion will be increased again. Moreover, with the current digital transformation, the trend of charging cellular phone credit has shifted to charging electric pulses.
