Police Examine Lead Electrical Engineering Officer And 12 Other Witnesses
JAKARTA - The police are still investigating the refinery fire in Cilacap. Officers from the National Police Laboratory and the identification team are still around the scene, while Pertamina is still cleaning up the remnants of the fire.
The Central Java Police Chief through the Central Java Regional Police Head of Human Resources (Humas), Commissioner M Iqbal Alqudusy explained, currently, the investigation process of the Cilacap Pertamina refinery is still ongoing. There were 13 witnesses who were examined both internally and externally for the completeness of supporting documents.
"This includes lead electrical engineering officers or electrical engineering officers," he said.
According to the head of the division, the identification team is still at the location examining the remaining fluid caused by the fire. And now the team has taken the sample.
"The identification team is at the location and fluid samples have been taken for inspection," said Commissioner Iqbal through a message received by VOI, Wednesday, November 17.

Iqbal explained that the team involved in the identification process was a joint team from the National Police Headquarters, Central Java Police, and Cilacap Resort Police.
"This is done in order to obtain comprehensive results so that the investigation can truly be accounted for," he added.
Iqbal also asked the public to be patient until the fingerprinting process was completed and to avoid hoax issues circulating on social media.
"The Head of the Central Java Police has conveyed that the alleged cause of the fire was due to an electric strike. For this reason, the public is asked to be wise and patient to wait for the progress of the investigation to be complete," he concluded.
