Fadli Zon Insinuates 'Come To Sintang', Jokowi Talks About The Cause Of Floods In Weeks In West Kalimantan
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) responded to the Sintang flood in West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan). Indeed, Jokowi did not respond directly to Fadli Zon's tweet, which later became boisterous after being 'sprinkled' by Gerindra, but the president spoke about the cause of the flooding that lasted for weeks.
"That's because of the damage to the catchment area (water catchment area, ed), the rain catchment area that has been around for decades. Yes, that's what we have to stop because the main problem is there," said Jokowi, Tuesday, November 16.
“Kapuas overflowed because the rain catchment area was damaged. that's what we'll fix later. later, maybe next year we will build nurseries, then there will be reforestation in upstream areas, in rain catchment areas, in catchment areas, we will repair them. because the damage is there. second, there is rain that is more extreme than usual," said Jokowi.
Previously, Fadli Zon's satire to President Joko Widodo about the flood in Sintang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan) led to a warning. The reprimand was even directly from the General Chairperson of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.
It started with a tweet from Fadli Zon who commented on Jokowi after directly testing the Mandalika Circuit in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK), Central Lombok, NTB.
The chairman of the DPR BKSAP gave his appreciation, as well as satirizing Jokowi about the Sintang flood. It is known, the flood that hit Sintang did occur for more than two weeks. The Sintang flood has not subsided and has caused thousands of houses to be submerged.
"It's amazing, sir. Congratulations on the inauguration of the Mandalika Circuit. When are you going to Sintang, it's been 3 weeks the floods haven't subsided," Fadli wrote on his personal Twitter account, @fadlizon, as seen on Saturday, November 13.
As a result, Fadli Zon's satire made General Chairman Prabowo Subianto intervene. Prabowo reprimanded Fadli Zon not directly, but through Gerindra Secretary-General Ahmad Muzani.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees and spokesman for the Gerindra Party, Habiburrokhman, explained about General Chair Prabowo Subianto's reprimand against Fadli Zon after insinuating President Joko Widodo. He said the warning was only verbal.
"I think it has become our tradition. If we make a mistake, we remind each other and we don't feel bad about being reminded. We must accept it gracefully," said Habiburrokhman at the DPR Building, Monday, November 15.
"In general terms, yes, I was not informed sentence by sentence. But basically, we don't want statements that cause discomfort from colleagues," he added.
So, should Fadli Zon or other Gerindra cadres not issue statements against Jokowi or the coalition? Moreover, history records that Fadli has a long track record of often criticizing the government.
"That's exactly what we were reminded of. In general, our names in parliament oversee the government, that's okay. We can see in the dynamics of meetings at the commission that often criticize various policies. others let alone personal," explained Habiburrokhman.
He also reminded that Fadli's criticism and innuendo came from individuals, not factions or parties.
"We say that it does not reflect the faction or the commission. We have straightened it out," he said.
