President Jokowi This Afternoon Inaugurates General Andika Perkasa As Commander Of The Indonesian Armed Forces, No Reshuffle Affairs Yet

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to inaugurate General Andika Perkasa as TNI Commander this afternoon at the Palace. But regarding the matter of the cabinet reshuffle, Jokowi stressed that it would not be carried out.

"The inauguration of the Commander-in-Chief, God willing, tomorrow (today) will be high on Wednesday," Jokowi told reporters, Tuesday, November 16.

When asked about the cabinet reshuffle, Jokowi emphasized that it would not be carried out on the same day.

"Not yet, tomorrow the inauguration of the commander in chief," said Jokowi.

General Andika Perkasa was previously approved by the DPR to become TNI Commander replacing Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

Andika Perkasa before being trusted to become TNI Commander, was the Army Chief of Staff (Kasad). Andika has also held important positions in the TNI as Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad), and Commander of the Army Education and Training Doctrine Development Command (Dankodiklat AD).

Andika has also served as territorial leader when he was the Commander of the XII/Tanjungpura Military Regional Command (Pangdam) in 2016. Before becoming Pangdam XII, Andika was the Commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Danpaspampres) who guarded President Jokowi.
