Police: The Indonesian People's Da'wah Party Is The New Forum For Jamaah Islamiyah
JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the Indonesian People's Da'wah Party (PDRI) is a new forum for Jamaah Islamiyah (JI). This was revealed from the results of the examination of the suspected terrorist Farid Okbah.
Farid Okbah is the General Chair of the PDRI. The establishment of the party was called by the Police after Farid communicated with suspected terrorist Arif Siswanto who was arrested earlier.
"He helped provide solutions to the US brothers who had been arrested related to securing JI members after the arrest of PW (Parawijayanto) by creating a new forum. The party formed by FAO was the Indonesian People's Da'wah Party or PDRI," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Tuesday, November 16.
In addition, from the results of the examination Farid Okbah also has other roles in the JI network. He is on the shuro board and is involved with the JI wing of the organization.
"Then a member of the sharia board of BM ABA, then in 2018 he participated in providing cash for the shield of the One Archipelago," said Ramadhan.
As previously reported, Densus 88 arrested three suspected terrorists. They are Farid Okbah, Ahmad Zain An-Najah, and Anung Al-Hamat.
They were arrested on the same day or on Tuesday, November 16th. However, in a different location but around Bekasi, West Java.
