Ganjar Is Considered To Be Able To Awaken PDIP-Golkar Rivalry During The New Order In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - The rivalry between the Golkar Party and the PDI-P in the 2024 General Election is considered to be strengthened due to the 'scramble' for Ganjar Pranowo after the joke by Deputy General Chairman of Golkar Nurdin Halid about Ganjar being taken seriously by the PDIP.
Nurdin previously said that the Golkar Party was ready to accept Ganjar to participate in the 2024 presidential election contesting with General Chair Airlangga Hartarto.
"The reward for commodities is good. His electability has increased significantly. It is natural for Golkar to be attracted to 'pirate' Ganjar because the PDIP seems to have ignored him," said Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 16. Adi assessed that Golkar seemed serious in seeking the best tandem to increase Airlangga's electability. Because compared to other figures, Ganjar looks special for the banyan party. In fact, he continued, Golkar is ready to spread the yellow carpet if the PDIP red carpet is not given to Ganjar. According to him, this temptation made PDIP uncomfortable and could potentially lead to disharmony.
"For Golkar, if Ganjar doesn't get the red carpet, there is a yellow carpet ready to be spread. Of course this is a serious temptation that makes PDIP uncomfortable. Whatever the title, Ganjar is still their cadre who is currently a darling. it could be the seed of disharmony between PDIP and Golkar," he said.
If Ganjar is really finally hijacked by Golkar, Adi said, there will be a potential big match in the 2024 presidential election. In which the two parties that have competed since the New Order era will again become rivals in 2024 if Ganjar really crosses over to Golkar.
"Golkar and PDIP will return to the big match. Two parties that have competed since the New Order era. This is just a real rivalry," he explained. It is known that since the New Order until the 2009 elections, PDIP and Golkar have often been sworn enemies. It was only in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections that Gerindra became a rival to PDIP. "The seeds of disharmony are starting to show. PDIP accuses Golkar of despair after repeatedly persuading Ganjar. Golkar gives a hard code, without PDIP even Ganjar can advance through Golkar," said Adi.
Nevertheless, Adi believes that PDIP will remain strong without Ganjar if it carries the right candidate. However, Adi warned that the defeat of the PDIP in the 2004 election would be repeated in the next election.
"The PDI-P remains strong because of its loyal voter base. But if the candidate is wrong, the PDI-P's strength will have a limit, like the defeat in the 2004 General Election," he said.
