Investigating Allegations Of Bribery In Handling DAK Cases In Central Lampung, KPK Summons Aliza Gunado
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have summoned the former General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Youth PP, Aliza Gunado, who is also the right-hand man of former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Azis Syamsuddin. He will be examined as a witness in the alleged bribery handling of the corruption case in Central Lampung.
"Aliza Gunado, the private sector is being questioned as a witness for suspect AZ (Azis Syamsuddin)," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati told reporters, Monday, November 15.
Besides Aliza, the KPK also summoned Edy Sujarwo. He was also summoned as a witness to complete files belonging to Azis who bribed the former anti-corruption commission investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju.
Regarding this summons, Ipi has not detailed what investigators will investigate. However, in the trial with Stepanus Robin as the defendant, a number of witnesses have exposed the role of Aliza Gunado, who is Azis Syamsuddin's confidant.
As previously reported, Azis Syamsuddin was named a suspect in connection with the alleged bribery in handling a corruption case currently being handled by the KPK in Central Lampung. This award was given to Stepanus Robin Pattuju who had been dismissed from his job as an investigator.
In this case, the KPK suspects that Azis and former General Chairperson of the PP Youth Forces of the Golkar Party (AMPG) Aliza Gunado gave bribes to KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju (SRP) worth Rp. 3.1 billion from an agreement of Rp. 4 billion.
The money was given to Stepanus so that the former investigators would secure their position in the alleged corruption of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) in Central Lampung.
