GIS Environmental Care Movement Successfully Collects 566 Inspirational Works

JAKARTA - The environmental care movement #MulaiBerubahDariRumah 2.0 organized by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) on October 1 to 31, 2021, with the theme of food waste or food loss, managed to collect 566 inspirational works uploaded through social media.

A total of 566 inspirational works collected were then converted by GIS into food packages and ready-to-eat food which were donated to the community. The distribution is carried out in collaboration with the Foodbank of Indonesia community, starting on Wednesday, November 10 to Monday, November 22, 2021, in the Jakarta area.

The #MulaiBerubahDariRumah 2.0 movement is a movement that is followed by all levels of society, including the community, by taking photos or videos accompanied by stories of changes made to the environment, namely related to small changes in food waste or food loss that have been made.

The photo or video content is then uploaded to Instagram in the period from 1 to 31 October 2021, accompanied by the hashtag #MulaiBerubahDariRumah #MulaiCeritaDariRumah then mention the @sig.id account and tag three friends.

SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni, appreciates and thanks the community for participating in the #BerubahDariRumah 2.0 environmental care movement. Although this movement was carried out in a short time, the enthusiasm of the participants was quite high, as evidenced by the many inspiring works that were collected.

According to her, through the #MulaiBerubahDariRumah movement, there are many experiences and inspiring stories that have a positive impact on themselves and the environment around them. One example of the work uploaded by Ayunda Hanifah about wisely managing organic waste and food into compost and fertilizer, besides being useful for her garden needs, this fertilizer processing effort has succeeded in becoming a side business during this pandemic.

Furthermore, Vita Mahreyni conveyed, the spirit of building awareness about environmental management carried out by the community through this movement, is in line with GIS's commitment to provide solutions, not only meeting stakeholder expectations, but also being a driving force in the growth of the building materials industry that pays attention to sustainability.

It is hoped that after this movement ends, it will not only be a temporary campaign but this spirit can inspire more people to care more about the environment.

"Let's maintain this commitment to change and continue to be consistent in applying the spirit of sustainability for a better future," said Vita Mahreyni, in a written statement received on Monday, November 15.
