8 Conglomerates That Are 'Close' To Raffi - Nagita's RANS, Starting From Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Hartono Brothers, Chairul Tanjung, Anthony Salim, To Eddy Kusnadi

JAKARTA - Rows of conglomerates in the country are tempted by the popularity of RANS Entertainment, which is led by a duet couple that is arguably the most popular today, Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina.

The latest news is that PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTK) aka Emtek, through PT Indonesia Entertainment Group will invest IDR 248 billion in RANS Entertainment owned by artist Raffi Ahmad. This means that the Raffi Ahmad-Nagita Slavina duo will receive jumbo money of Rp. 248 billion as a gift at the end of 2021.

The Corporate Secretary of Elang Mahkota Teknologi, Titi Maria Rusli revealed that the collaboration between Emtek and RANS Entertainment is through PT Indonesia Entertainment Group which is a subsidiary of PT Surya Citra Media Tbk. (SCMA).

Meanwhile, SCMA is a subsidiary of Emtek, which oversees two national TV channels, namely Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) and Indosiar Visual Mandiri (Indosiar).

"To our knowledge, the investment plan that will be carried out by PT Indonesia Entertainment Group will be made through a deposit for the issuance of new shares in RANS Entertainment of Rp. 248 billion," Titi wrote in Emtek's explanation on the information disclosure page of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, quoted Sunday, November 13.

The investment of Rp248 billion, said Titi, will be carried out in stages for a 17 percent stake in RANS Entertainment.

Through this investment, Titi explained that the Emtek group expects a synergistic effect where the company's group clients or advertisers can get one-stop service from the issuer group's ecosystem.

"In addition, the company group also expects market share growth that can contribute to the company's profitability growth on a consolidated basis," he said.

Emtek is owned by the family of conglomerate Eddy Kusnadi Sariaatmadja, who according to the Forbes 2020 list is ranked among the 20 richest people in Indonesia with a fortune of US$1.4 billion.

Row of tycoons in Raffi's circle - Nagita

If explored further in EMTK's share ownership, Indofood conglomerate boss Anthony Salim, who is the fourth richest person in Indonesia on the Forbes 2020 list with a fortune of 5.9 billion US dollars, turns out to also hold 9 percent of EMTK's shares. This means that Anthony Salim will also be part of the RANS Entertainment extended family.

Next, there is Susanto Suwarto, the 50th richest person in Indonesia with a wealth of 475 million US dollars, which was achieved from ownership of 11.6 percent of EMTK shares. There is also Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, a culinary entrepreneur, owner of a number of startup companies and also a Youtuber, listed as a Commissioner at RANS Entertainment.

Kaesang is also listed as the owner of the Persis Solo football club with 40 percent ownership. The club also has the names of SOE Minister Erick Thohir and Kevin Nugroho as shareholders.

In addition to these 4 conglomerates, there is one more name in Raffi Ahmad's career in the television entertainment world, namely Hary Tanoesoedibjo. In the Forbes 2020 list, the MNC Group boss is ranked as the 33 richest person in Indonesia with a fortune of US$950 million through his media octopus.

At one of Hary Tanoe's television stations, Raffi's career has taken off on the show Strikes since 2009. Moreover, recently, Hary Tanoe invited Raffi to visit a number of MNC Group business units in early June this year.

Furthermore, there are a number of other conglomerates who have media or television businesses, including Chairul Tanjung, the duo owner of cigarette giant Djarum and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) Hartono Brothers to Mochtar Riady.

Chairul Tanjung or CT is the founder of CT Corp which oversees Trans TV, Trans7, Trans Studio to the banking business through Bank Mega. Based on Forbes 2020, he is listed as the ninth richest person with a fortune of 3.9 billion US dollars.

While the Hartono Brothers are the number one richest people in Indonesia with a total wealth of 38.8 billion US dollars. They have a pay TV network called Mola TV.

The Mochtar Riady family is the 21st richest person in Indonesia with a wealth of 1.38 billion US dollars, known to the media news network through Berita Satu Media Group. So there are at least 8 tycoons who seem interested in the popularity of RANS.

These media conglomerates, of course, are also mistaken with the fame of the duo couple Raffi and Nagita who are able to bring a lot of coffers of wealth to RANS Entertainment. Moreover, Raffi, recently said that there was one big media that was eyeing him, after collaborating with EMTK.
