Police Arrest 2 Men Perpetrators Of Illegal Logging In West Sumatra, One Truck Confiscated
PADANG - The West Sumatra Police arrested two men with the initials IC (26) and M (40) who were suspected of carrying out illegal logging in the area which resulted in forest destruction.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Satake Bayu, said that in the arrest his party cooperated with the Regional II Kerinci Seblat National Park Center Team (BBTNKS).
The perpetrator, IC, is a casual daily laborer, a resident of Balai Tapan Pesisir Selatan, and M is also a resident of the Pesisir Selatan.
The two perpetrators were arrested on November 5, 2021, at 08.45 WIB on the Bukit Putus Kenagarian highway, Limau Puruik, Ranah Hulu Ampek Tapan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency.
The evidence seized was a colt diesel truck loaded with wood forest products as many as 31 sticks in the form of blocks.
Then, one STNK for a Colt diesel truck and two forms of transportation memorandum dated November 4, 2021.
He explained that the perpetrator was suspected of committing a crime of transporting forest products without a Certificate of Legal Forest Products (SKSHH) which was found by police officers together with TNKS.
Officers conducted an examination of the perpetrators to carry out the development of these findings.
The perpetrator is suspected of violating Article 83 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 18 of 2013 concerning the prevention and eradication of forest destruction as amended and added in Article 37 number 13 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Copyright Work in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
