As Of September, PGN's Natural Gas Sales To The Industrial Sector Were 481 BBTUD

JAKA – The industrial and commercial sectors contributed the largest portion of sales to PGN Group's accumulated gas sales. Until September 2021, natural gas sales amounted to 481 BBTUD to industrial and commercial customers.

PT PGN Sales and Operations Director Faris Aziz said gas sales amounted to 481 BBTUD to 2,371 PGN Group customers.

“PGN strives to maintain capabilities and develop infrastructure to increase the accessibility of gas utilization for the industrial sector. Therefore, business performance efforts continue to be carried out in order to provide a multiplier effect, including increasing the power of industrial products and employment," said Fariz in Jakarta, Friday, November 12.

Fariz detailed that the realization of gas distribution to industrial-commercial in the Sales Operation Regional I (SOR I) area which includes Medan, Dumai, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Batam and Lampung is 54 BBTUD.

In SOR 2 covering Jabotabek, Karawang, Cirebon, and Cilegon, 303 BBTUD were realized. Meanwhile, in SOR 3, which includes Semarang, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, and Bojonegoro, it is 124 BBTUD. Faris continued, PGN also continues to support the competitiveness of industrial customers in various regions, including in Industrial Estates and Special Economic Zones. Currently, PGN has served around 75 Industrial Estates, with a total of 636 industrial customers, covering the chemical, ceramics, food, metal fabrication, glass, paper, base metals, steel, textile, cement, fertilizer, petrochemical, and petrochemical sectors. oleochemical, wood and others.

According to Faris, industrial estates are part of the industrialization process that can be leveraged to create jobs, increase product competitiveness and economic growth.

As an alternative source of energy or raw material, it is hoped that natural gas for industry can be more optimally utilized in both existing and new markets. Of course, with integrated infrastructure support from upstream to downstream.
