Commission X Urges LADI To Improve Internal Management

JAKARTA - Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives urges the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) to improve internal management to prevent problems such as sanctions from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) from happening again.

This was conveyed by the chairperson of the session who is also Deputy Chair of Commission X DPR RI, Hetifah Sjaifudian, during a working meeting with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and LADI at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday.

"We urge the LADI management to coordinate, communicate, and improve internal management so that problems such as WADA sanctions do not happen again," Hetifah said as quoted by Antara.

WADA's sanctions had to be imposed on LADI because it was suspected that there were tasks that had not been completed by the management of the previous period. There are 24 pending matters that need to be resolved by LADI in order to regain compliance status from WADA.

However, after that, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali immediately formed a Task Force for the Acceleration of Settlement of WADA Sanctions chaired by the Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Raja Sapta Oktohari.

LADI even claims to have resolved 24 pending matters and have been handed over to WADA.

LADI currently still needs to fulfill the realization of the doping test (TDP), which is one of 24 pending matters that must be resolved.

TDP realization includes in-competition (ICT) and non-competitive (OCT) tests which are expected to be completed by the end of November at the latest in early December.

Menpora Zainudin Amali said that if LADI had obtained compliance status and the witness was revoked, the Task Force would continue the investigation process to explore what really happened so that WADA would impose sanctions.

“As mandated by the President, the Task Force must transparently disclose the results of the investigation. I will also carry out the recommendations given by Pak Okto and the team,” said Zainudin.
