Mention That There Are Still People Who Have An Inlander Mentality And Are Colonized, Jokowi: Maybe It's Because They Have Been Colonized For Too Long
JAKARTA - President Jokowi does not want the Indonesian nation to still have an inlander, inferior, and colonized mental DNA as the nation's identity.
This was revealed by Jokowi during a speech at the 10th Anniversary of the NasDem Party which was held at the National Defense Academy (ABN) building of the NasDem Party, Jakarta, Thursday, November 11 today.
Jokowi acknowledged that Indonesia had suffered from colonialism for too long, for 350 years. But the fact is today, Indonesia has been independent for 76 years.
And that independence was also obtained not the result of a gift. But the result of the struggle of the nation.
"I don't want an inferior, inlander, colonized mentality to still be entrenched in the mentality of our nation", he said.
"But it's DNA that I still think about, maybe we have a mental colonized, inlander because DNA is passed down from 350 years of colonization", he criticized.
"That kind of mentality should not be maintained", he said.
