212 Reunion Planned To Be Held At Monas, Organizer: Not Opened To The Public
JAKARTA - The 212 Alumni Association (PA) plans to hold a 212 reunion on December 2, 2021 at the National Monument. However, the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the National Monument, Isa Sanuri, emphasized that Monas has not been opened to the public.
"Until now Monas has not been opened for public activities," said Isa when contacted, Thursday, November 11.
Isa said that his party had not yet received a letter of application for permission to use the iconic Jakarta tourist spot from PA 212.
"There hasn't been (a letter from PA 212) yet," said Isa.
Previously, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Riza Patria, asked PA 212 administrators to think twice about the plan to hold a reunion. The reason is that it is still during the COVID-19 pandemic, so there is the potential for transmission.
"Yes, later we will see, yes, so far we have asked because this is a pandemic period, of course, we hope that all activities that can cause crowds and have the potential to spread, we hope to reconsider. We will reconsider until Jakarta is really safe," said Riza.
According to Riza, although Jakarta is currently at Level 1 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), the potential for the spread of the new coronavirus is still wide open. Especially now that it's nearing the end of the year.

With that reason, Riza again asked the PA 212 management to think carefully with various considerations. This is to prevent a wave of the spread of COViD-19 from happening as before.
"It's best to think about it again, so that it doesn't become a new cluster for the spread of COVID-19. Of course we have to think about it again so that it doesn't become a new cluster of COVID-19," said Riza.
The 212 Reunion discourse was previously raised by the Deputy Secretary-General of 212 PA, Novel Bamukmin. "God willing, it will be for the 212 grand reunion and it will be at Monas like usual," Novel said some time ago.
