KUPANG - Investigators of the Corruption Crime of the High Prosecutor's Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province, confiscated evidence in the form of land and buildings in the corruption case of selling assets of the Kupang Regency Government which cost the state IDR 8 billion.

"Investigators from the NTT Prosecutor's Office have confiscated several pieces of evidence closely related to the corruption case in the sale of land and building assets belonging to the Kupang Regency Government in 2009", said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT Provincial High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim in Kupang, in Kupang citing Antara, Thursday, November 11th.

He said that the evidence that had been confiscated by the Attorney General's Office was in the form of documents on the transfer of Kupang Regency government assets which were transferred to private property and also confiscated land and former office buildings.

According to him, the assets confiscated by the Attorney General's Office were land and buildings of the former Kupang Regency Regional Government Radio Office (RPD) on Ahmad Yani Street, Kupang City.

He explained that the state's losses in the alleged corruption case of the transfer of land assets reached IDR 8 billion.

He added that investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office immediately examined several parties, both members of the Regional House of Representatives and former members of the Kupang Regional House of Representatives who also agreed to transfer the land assets to third parties.

"The prosecutor's office focuses on recovering state losses in this case because the process of transferring land and building assets is not by applicable procedures", said Abdul Hakim.
