Alleged Formula E Corruption Still Under Investigation, KPK: Let Us Work

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asks the public to be patient and let their team work to investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E electric car racing event.

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto said his party was currently still in the process of being investigated so that he would not announce anything related to the investigation into this alleged case.

"In principle, let us do the work and when the time comes, we will definitely convey it to the public. But it's true, we are conducting an investigation," Karyoto said in a press conference broadcast on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Wednesday, November 10.

Even so, he revealed a little about the process of this investigation. Karyoto said, his party will collect information related to the implementation of Formula E which will then be filtered and compiled in such a way that the chronology of the corruption practices that occurred is revealed.

"If we investigate any available information, of course, we will investigate it, we will link it later, we will sew up the chronology and others. Yes, the name for example is a procurement project or an initiation project, we will sort it in chronological order," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK admitted that it was investigating and had examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event.

Most recently, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate Syaefulloh Hidayat and the President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto visited the KPK Red and White Building on Tuesday, November 9.

They came to submit a 600-page document related to the plan to organize Formula E. This was intended to provide support for monitoring corruption prevention (MCP) efforts to the KPK leadership.

The document contains the approval process to the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event.
